Consultation
The consultation is the initial phase of a landscape project that is designed to help you achieve your ultimate goal of an
attractive, functional outdoor space. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, our consultation can serve to provide ideas and valuable
information before you get started on your own. If you would prefer New Leaf to do your landscaping work for you,
the consultation will set the foundation for the design.
An estimate is always given as part of a landscape design. However, a
design does not need to be done for every situation. An estimate can
frequently be done for a simple project with minimal information. Should
you simply need an estimate for a small project, we recommend discussing
your situation with our designer over the phone or you can mail or fax
your needs to us. We will be happy to provide the estimate for no
charge.
At Your Consultation
Your consultation is the initial contact with our designer and will kick off the creative process for landscaping project, whether you are revitalizing an established site or just settling into a new home. At this meeting our designer will ask questions to understand what function you want to get from your completed project. We'll get to know you and your preferences to ensure our work is personalized and unique. We'll also evaluate your site to determine the creative possibilities.
Some things considered at your consultation are:
- What elements are available at your site ready to work with?
- What aspects of your site can be modified?
- How much/little planting will you desire?
- What plant and hardscaping materials would you like to use?
- What plant and hardscaping materials would you prefer not to use?
- What ideas do you have?
The creation of your unique landscape begins at your consultation. Our designer will sketch out informal diagrams so you can see the ideas come to life. Including you and your ideas from this early stage of design will minimize major changes to your design down the road and assure you that the design reflects your wishes and style.
